-----Archiving
Carch 1.0 [CARCH] (Leonardus Leonardi, reg. fee: $10) allows you to convert
an archived file from one compression format to another. It recognizes ARJ,
ARC, LZH, ZIP, ZOO and others.
Inject 0.83 [INJECT] (Gilles Vollant, reg. fee: $0) inserts a file into
disk images created by programs such as the author's WinImage program.
These programs create floppy disk image files on a hard disk for faster
duplication. Inject contains modules to operate for DOS or Windows NT.
JRchive 1.01 [JRC101] (JAYAR Systems, ASP; reg. fee: $29) compresses and
stores files in an archive. It has a concatenated archive feature for
creating archives with a better compression ratio. You can also view files
in an archive and make self-extracting files.
The Compression Maximizer 1.0 [TCM100] (Lord Yannor, reg. fee: $0) converts
all your zip files to maximum compression and extends your storage
capacity. Features include integrity check, support for volume labels,
stored paths, hidden system files, zip comments, AV stamping/stripping,
insert/delete BBS ads, and more. Requires a 286 or better.
Zip 3.01 [ZIP301] (David A. Roman, reg. fee: $45) is a set of 3 files
designed to speed the creation and the extraction of ZIP files. ZIPAdd
allows you to select files from a list to add to the ZIP file, ZIPEdit will
display a list of a ZIP files contents, allowing you to select the files
you wish to extract or delete from the ZIP file, and Span will allow you to
select files to ZIP onto disks using the new PKZIP Span feature.
ZIP Shell 1.01s [ZIPSHELL] (The COMmunications NETwork School and
Publishing Co., reg. fee: $15) is a shell for PKZIP. Requires PKZIP, mouse,

virus problems. NEW: disinfection of the Invisible Man virus. Improved

(U1-02) F-Prot 2.10 [FPROT] (Fridrik Skulason, reg. fee: $0) scans disks,
hard drives, and all network drives for viruses. NEW: detects 58 new viruses.
(U1-02) ViruScan 9.20V109 [SCAN] (McAfee Associates, Inc., reg. fee: $25)
is a part of the McAfee Anti-Virus program. ViruScan scans diskettes or
entire systems and identifies any pre-existing PC virus infection. NEW:
added detection of 114 new viruses and 167 variants, bringing the total
number of known viruses to 2,632.
(U1-02) VShield 5.55v109 [VSHIELD] (McAfee Associates, reg. fee: $25) is
part of the McAfee anti-virus package. It scans programs as they are run
for virus signatures and validation codes added by ViruScan. NEW: detects
all the major viruses checked for by ViruScan.

Check Keys 1.0 [CHKEYS] (Paradigm Software, reg. fee: $10) lets you
interrupt batch file processing by holding down a Shift, Ctrl or Alt key.
Choose 2.0 [CHOOSE20] (HFK Software, ASP; reg. fee: $20) provides menu
controlled branching within the AUTOEXEC or other batch files. It includes
unlimited cascading and nesting.
OBOE 1.0 [OBOE] (David Alexander, reg. fee: $0) is a set of 3 functions for
use in batch files: prompt for a user input, sound a tone, and move the
cursor to any
position on screen.

Push Button DOS [PBDOS] (Bill Liatti, reg. fee: $20) is a disk management
program. It gives you the power to copy or delete files, with prompts
available as you proceed. You can delete files and restore them. It has 22
functions which perform various tasks from editing a file to starting up
your favorite program.
QuaDrive 1.0 [QUAD] (Ronald Q. Smith, reg. fee: $10) supports 720KB and
1.44MB disk drives on older machines without requiring a new controller or
BIOS. It allows you to use most DOS utilities as if your 1.2MB drive was a
3 1/2" 720KB drive. It is also useful for making exact copies of 720KB 3
1/2" diskettes when you have one 3 1/2" drive and the 1.2MB drive.
ZapChk 1.0 [ZAPCHK] (Bruce Gavin, reg. fee: $0) patches DOS 6.2's
CHKDSK.EXE to remove advertising messages suggesting use of Scandisk. C
source code included.

(U1-04) DF 3.52 [DF] (Mark Vitt, reg. fee: $20) creates an image of a
floppy on your hard disk for production diskette copying.
-----File Changing, Copying, Deleting
Bakera 6.5E [BAKERA] (Ralf Eichler, reg. fee: $10) searches multiple drives
and subirectories for files with certain extensions, such as .bak and .sik,
and deletes them. It also includes options to prompt you with every
discovery, show name, size and date, allow you to view the file before
deleting, and delete only files beyond a certain date.
Delete By Date 1.0 [DBD1] (Arthur R. McKendry, reg. fee: $30) deletes files
from the hard drive based on their creation dates.
Edit! 1.0 [EDIT] (Steve Yates, reg. fee: $20) is a replacement for DOS's
EDIT command which features the ability to open multiple files and preset
groups of files. It also includes wordwrap, network support, paragraph
reformatting, and more.
ENC! 1.0 [ENC] (Steve Chan, reg. fee: $15) automatically encrypts and
decrypts files in the background as you read from and write to disk.
Multi-level passwords let you allow other people access to some files
without allowing access to other files. You can specify which types of
files are to be encrypted/decrypted, including specifying files by extension.
HEdit 2.3 [HEDIT23] (Larry Michaels, reg. fee: $16) is a text editor which
allows you to view, create, and edit binary and text files. You can also
perform string searches change attributes, and more.
heXEdit 4.0 [XEV40_RS] (Robert Stuntz, reg. fee: $0) allows you to display
and edit any file in hexadecimal and ASCII format. You can also search for
a sequence of bytes or a text, display an ASCII chart, and shell to DOS.

blank spaces, space bars, and nulls from the right end of all lines of text

changing the time and date on files.

before deleting each file matching the specified file mask. This is a

-----File Cataloging
DiskIndx 2.1 [DISKNDX] (JN Goodale, ASP; reg. fee: $17) creates an index of
files stored on disks or hard drives. The index can be searched by volume
label to locate where a specific file is stored.

(U1-07) CatDisk 7.22 [CD722D] (Rick Hillier, reg. fee: $29) catalogs files,
including contents of subdirectories and archives. NEW: higher capacity to
facilitate CD-ROMS

-----File Managers
DualTools 1.6s [DUAL16S] (Frank Sawchuk, reg. fee: $20) is a DOS file
manager and menu program. It displays a tree of subdirectories in one
window while listing the files of the selected subdirectory in another
window. Files can be manipulated using a variety of common file commands
from the toolbar at the top of the screen.

computerized card index and document manager.
(U1-08) CM_Filer 5.36m [CMFILE] (NoVaSoft, ASP; reg. fee: $30) is a
powerful file manager with a double directory display.
-----Hard Disk Utilities
Disk-Free 1.10 [DFREE11] (Greg King, reg. fee: $0) displays hard drive
information including volume label, capacity, how much space is used, free
to use, and the percentage of free space.
HDInfo - JT 1.2 [HDNFOJT] (James Thorpe, reg. fee: $0) identifies the
number of cylinders, heads, and sectors for any IDE hard disk. Run this
program when first installing a hard disk to find the optimal parameters
before the hard drive is partitioned and formatted. C source code is included.
No Snoop 1.0 [NSP100] (David Key, reg. fee: $0) encrypts the names of
user-selected files using a randomly generated key.
PC Snooper-Stopper 3.3 [PCSS33] (Joby Gordon, reg. fee: $5) will prevent
unauthorized use of your computer by offering password protection. If the
correct password is not given after two attempts, the computer will reboot
or become trapped. The program will also log all failed attempts.
Password 1.4 [PWORD] (Jonathan Blackwell, reg. fee: $5) provides password
protection by displaying a fake DOS prompt when the program is activated.
Anything entered except for the password will return a 'Bad Command or File
Name' error message. It also disables the control-c and control-break
sequences and returns a fake ^C message if anyone attempts to break out
of the program.
SCSI 1.0 [SCSI] (Richard Goldman, reg. fee: $0) explains how to convert a
Mac-formatted SCSI drive to a DOS-formatted SCSI drive.
SecureDrive 1.0 [SECDRV] (Mike Ingle, reg. fee: $0) allows you to create an
encrypted partition on your hard drive or floppy disks, making it
accessible only by entering a password. Everything on the disk or partition
except the boot sector is encrypted. Disks and partitions can be decrypted
and returned to normal at any time. C source code is included.

Check Path 1.0 [CHKPATH] (Tony Nelson, reg. fee: $0) checks your DOS path
for invalid entries. Includes Pascal source code.

Bunch's String Search 1.38 [BSS138] (David Bunch, reg. fee: $0) is a string
search program modeled after VAX/VMS search utility. Features include
multiple files & directory trees & over 3000 search strings. Also allows
wild cards in search strings, & many other features.
LUP 1.0 [LUP100] (LODJI, reg. fee: $30) is a file manager with browsing and
comparing capabilities. It also allows you to browse files archived using
PKZIP. You can read text files included in ZIP files without unzipping the
file. Several windows can be opened allowing you to compare groups of files
or two versions of the same software package.

premier file viewing utility. New: additional command line switches that
disable the mouse, toggle beeps and bells, and place LIST into 43/50
display mode. New commands are available from the File Selection including
commands to edit the selected file, refresh the directory display, toggle
the date format between US and European styles, and more.

date reminder program.
Screen Minder 1.0d [SCRMDR] (Communications Network School, reg. fee: $25)
is a combination screen saver, disk security, DOS and
program shell and text file editor. It also contains a modem
program.
-----DOS Menu/Shell Programs
GameMenu 1.0 [GAMEME] (Fred Tanaka, reg. fee: $0) allows you to create a
menu for the games (or other programs) on your system through the use of a
plain text file describing the name of the program and it's path. Up to 30
programs can be listed in the menu.
LegRoom 2.0 [LEGROOM] (Phil Grenetz, ASP; reg. fee: $35) is a TSR utility
which allows you to shell to DOS from virtually any application and reclaim
almost all of your conventional memory for running large programs. It even
works with programs that don't have a built-in DOS shell feature. Legroom
can also convert any application into a TSR.
Menu Master [MNUMSTR] (Kwabena Mireku, reg. fee: $25) is a menu program
with graphics and special effects. It allows you to choose fonts, character
sizes, colors, and icons for your selections. Each selection may have its
own font, password, parameter message and icon. Other features include text
mode support, up to 10000 selections, up to 50 submenus, user tracking
mode, file locking, memory resident mode, file manipulation, and text

PCS Windows 4.0 [PCSW40] (Jonathan D. Stanley, reg. fee: $20) is a hard
disk menu system which uses pop-down menus, hot-keys, and mouse support. It
also includes a calculator, date book, directory lister, file finder, and more.
Questor 1.0 [QUESTOR] (Doug Farren, reg. fee: $15) is a configurable DOS
menuing system wich allows you to create and move time, date, text or
program items. It also contains a screen blanker, and unlimited sub-menus.
StarMenu 3.1 [SM31] (The Suisun Software Company, reg. fee: $25) is DOS
menu system which allows you to organize your favorite programs in a
pull-down menu format. It features mouse support, configurable desktop, as
well as a calendar, calculator, and a telephone and address book database.
StarMenu also supports multiple users in a network environment.
Simple Menu System 1.0 [SMS] (Jay Raab, reg. fee: $15) is a DOS menu system
which allows you to categorize your programs into pull-down menus.
The ToolBOX 1.4 [TBOX14] (Roy Anderson, ASP; reg. fee: $30-37) is a DOS
shell with an assortment of DOS utility programs. The shell allows access
to normal DOS command line functions while adding many additional features.
The accompanying standalone utilities allow you to show drive allocations,
display directory usage, show files accessible via the PATH, provide a
uniquely powerful file find feature, display text files, and more.
Ye Olde Disk Menu System 6.3 [YODMS] (Neil Davidson, reg. fee: $35) is a
DOS menu system which will automatically update to include a list of
programs on your hard drive. It also includes a disk formatting utility.

system for networks and single systems.
(U2-02) DOSmenu 4.2 [DOSMNU] (Skip Bremer, reg. fee: $40) is a menu system
for network and single systems. It can translate NetWare menu files.
(U2-02) IconDOS 1.7 [ICONDOS] (EFD Systems, reg. fee: $25) is an
application launcher for DOS similar to Window's Program Manager. NEW:
added a puzzle game, revised IconEDIT, and added PIM features.
(U2-02) MarxMenu 2.45 [MARXMENU] (Mark Perkel, ASP; reg. fee: $63) is a DOS
menu programming language that is easy to use.
-----Keyboard/Mouse/Joystick
AutoScript 2.0 [AUTOSC] (Larry Michaels, reg. fee: $40) is a 37k TSR which
can record your keystrokes and play them back as if though you were typing
them. You can use it to perform various tasks such as clearing the screen,
generating sounds, deleting files, and more. AutoScript also provides
screen blanking and an expanded keyboard buffer.
Eurokeys 2.0 [EUROKEYS] (Jean-Franτois Larvoire, reg. fee: $20) provides an
easy way to type European characters on American keyboards. It supports DOS
and Windows.
KeySaver 1.0 [KEYSVR10] (HFK Software, ASP; reg. fee: $20) is a 6K TSR that
automatically types into an application (eg: word processor) canned text
from specified files. This saves repetitive typing and prevents typing errors.
KeyToggle 1.27 [KEYTG127] (Samual Kaplin, reg. fee: $6) allows you to set
scroll lock, caps lock, insert, and num lock keys at the command line or
from batch file.

task automation utility. NEW: additional hot key variations, allows you to
adjust the number of keystrokes before automatically writing to a file,
support for 9 string variables, allows you to perform directory searches
from within Phantom scripts, and allows you to play melodies from a Phantom
script.

ForDo 1.0 [FORDO] (Tony Ingenoso, reg. fee: $0) lets you execute a command
on a series of files which match a specified file mask.
TSX-Lite 4.11 [TSX411A, TSX411B, TSX411C, TSX411D] (S&H Computer Systems,
Inc., reg. fee: $70) is a 32-bit operating system which supports two users
and provides multi-tasking and multi-sessions allowing each user to control
up to 10 interactive sessions. It can also be used as a server to run doors
from BBS systems.
TSX-Lite uses the same file structure as DOS, so you can install TSX-Lite
on a DOS based computer without reformatting or partitioning your disk.
Full virtual memory support is provided with demand paging, allowing
execution of programs larger than the physical memory installed on the
computer. Requires 4Mb of memory and 10Mb of free disk space on a
non-Stacked drive. (This system comes on three 1.44MB 3.5" disks for a
special price of $9.99
-----System Set-Up, Testing & Control
Config 5.0 [CFG_HW] (Howard Williams, reg. fee: $0) allows you to create a
colorful menu of up to 25 different autoexec.bat and config.sys files and
the associated path and files. Requires EGA/VGA.
Clock 3.52 [CLOCK] (Ronald Q. Smith, reg. fee: $10) replaces the DOS
internal clock, providing automatic DST conversion, control of your BIOS
clock and battery clock, adjustment for clock drift and more.
FakeHI .09 [FAKEHI] (Tony Ingenoso, reg. fee: $0) implements enough of the
XMS spec to allow SMARTDRV 4.X to run on an 8088 or 640K 286 that has a
hardware EMS board. Assembler source is included.
FlashLED 1.2 [FLASH1] (R. Dimick, reg. fee: $0) is a small 1k TSR which
uses the computer's LEDs to indicate disk drive activity.
HMA 1.0 [HMA] (Tony Ingenoso, reg. fee: $0) reports on the amount of HMA
space left over when DOS is loaded with DOS=HIGH. This space can be used by
TSR's and device drivers. C source code included.
$20 Logic Analyzer 1.0 [LOGV20] (Robert G. Brown, reg. fee: $10) provides
the testing software and instruction on how to build a probe assembly for
testing the printer ports of your computer.
MemWatch 0.1(beta) [MWATCHTI] (Tony Ingenoso, reg. fee: $0) is a 1k TSR
which reports on how your system memory is being used, including the use of
EMS, XMS, Int 15, DPMI, and VCPI. It will reset after each invocation.
Assembly source code is included.
PC TimeChk 2.01a [TIMECHK1,TIMECHK2] (Ken Mummery, reg. fee: $20) allows
you to see and set the date and time at boot. It checks CMOS battery and
informs you of special dates and holidays. Features include a calendar,
mouse support and more. Requies AT/286/386/486 or better, 512K. and a hard
drive with 450K of free space.

20K TSR that saves images of any 80-column text screen to a file in PCX format.
(U2-07) VPRVESA 1.2c [VPRVSC] (Himalaya Software, reg. fee: $30-40) is a
VESA VBE video driver for the Diamond Viper card. It supports both 15-bit
and 16-bit HiColor modes and has dual buffering for the 640x400x256 video
mode. NEW: a switch that allows you to reload the VESA driver.

CEnvi for OS/2 1.007 [CENVI2] (Brent Noorda, reg. fee: $38) is a C
interpreter for OS/2. Small programs, such as searching a hard disk for a
specified file, are written into batch files which call the interpreter.
CEnvi runs programs in DOS, Windows, OS/2, NT, and Unix environments.

that meet the specified date and time stamp criteria, using OS/2's HPFS
file system. It will maintain the dates and times that files were created,
last accessed, and when the files were written.
